A Less-Than-Tragic Backstory

To whom it may concern,
My name is Jack Lathrop and I am one of the many sophomores fortunate enough to attend Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha, Nebraska, and a proud graduate of the St. Robert Bellarmine grade school. I play the trumpet in the Prep band. Since joining the band, I have been in several honor bands, including the 2014 Wesleyan Honor Band, which performed this past weekend. Playing the trumpet requires a lot of work, but the fun I have when I play makes it worth the effort. I am not a huge athlete, but I do run cross country in the fall, and play soccer for Prep in the spring. I've been playing soccer since I was eight years old. I hopefully will make the sophomore team this year. In my free time, I like to listen to music. I listen to a lot of different bands, Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, No Doubt, and The Killers to name a few. If I'm not listening to music, I'm probably watching Netflix on my iPad. I usually watch horror movies; there's nothing like the rush of adrenaline you feel when watching a suspenseful chase scene or jumping out of your skin when something pops out of the shadows at you. The name of my blog is even from The Shining, one of the greatest horror movies of all time. I also like watching TV shows, such as Criminal Minds, Doctor Who, and Sherlock. On the weekends, my favorite pastime is hanging out with friends. Most of my friends are people I went to grade school with, but I've made some of my closest friends at Prep. We always have a lot of fun when we're all together. My friends say that I'm funny. I do like to joke around, but sometimes I accidentally say something that gets me in trouble. People who don't know me that well probably think I'm weird and loud, and honestly, I completely agree. At least I'm memorable. Anyone who avoids me because of my personality is missing out on the spectacular person that I try to be. I hope this small biography was worth your time and that you learned something new about me.
